TRASEone
Shadows and Scars
2016
This work is an extension of the Shadows and Scars series done by Trase One over several years. In a clever play with silhouettes, the series captures the different movements and tricks often executed by skateboarders; ‘freeze framing’ each skateboarder’s tricks on the fly.

about the artist
TraseOne is highly regarded as both a pioneer and activist in the Singapore street art movement. Since 1999, he has constantly pushed boundaries while leading and engaging the scene through his art.
From the ego-driven adolescent hobby of tagging, Trase has evolved to become an artist, with subliminal messages thoughtfully weaved into each piece.
A self-taught graffiti artist, Trase was granted the inaugural Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award in 2005 to expand his knowledge in art, eventually graduating with an Honor’s Degree in 2007. Trase has since had his work exhibited in numerous commissioned projects and exhibitions both on in Singapore and internationally, winning numerous awards for his perpetually evolving style.
